Just to be clear, is this a general point of information, or are you directing this totalitarian accusation towards a particular American party?
Did either party put a stop to the totalitarian COVID policies? Did either party do anything about states violating their own election laws? Has either party sought to abolish all federal gun laws as infringements forbidden in the constitution? Has either party upheld the constitutional mandate to defend our borders and protect us from invasion? Has either party done a damn thing about businesses violating First Amendment rights of Americans?
I can keep going, but the days of supporting a candidate because of the R behind their name are long gone for me. Any vote I cast will be earned, and making me a slave, even a rich slave, is an abomination to me. And it is obvious that the Republican establishment is learning well the democrat lesson that Americans will accept oppression as long as they are entertained and distracted.

Are you really saying there was no difference between the parties regarding COVID policies? Keeping in mind that the feds were controlled by a Dem Senate, House, and POTUS. Did you NOT notice the difference between Dem and Republican controlled states? Or even Dem vs. Republican counties and cities?

Are you in a news blackout area? Yes, there were attempts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia and Arizona (and more) by Republicans to investigate the election shenanigans and they were blocked time and again by Dem legislatures, Dem election officials, and Dem judges, as well as some turncoat Rhinos.

Well that’s a pretty high bar; ALL gun laws? I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a push to revoke the law preventing violent felons from obtaining or possession firearms. However, the Republicans surely attempted to block (and in some cases, did block) restrictive gun laws passed/proposed by the DEM CONTROLLED CONGRESS.
I also saw that conservative Supreme Court Justices, APPOINTED BY REPUBLICANS, threw out the handgun ban in New York.

Didn’t DeSantis and Abbot just create a media storm by demonstrating the hypocrisy of the Dem Party immigration disaster?
Has either party upheld the constitutional mandate to defend our borders and protect us from invasion?
quote:In this case, it’s the libertarian leaning Republicans who join with the Dems to block FEDERAL REGULATION on tech companies, up until the Dems took control of both houses. But more and more MAGA Republicans are prepared to reign in Big Tech violations of free speech.
Has either party done a damn thing about businesses violating First Amendment rights of Americans?

Well I agree with you in general, but remember that we don’t get to pick the best candidate for the office. We ONLY get to vote for one of a pair or a small group of candidates. We are often stuck with the Big Douche vs. Turd Sandwich choice.
The system is far from perfect, but electing a Dem, or not voting for the Turd Sandwich Rep, and thus allowing the Dem to get elected means that the Dem Party platform is going to be enacted, even if your particular state’s Dem “doesn’t seem as bad as the others”.
