Is an absolute shite show. Fourth time coming through in 2022 and although I prepare myself every time, it gets worst
Connecting through LHR today from AMS. It took 2 hours before reaching gate in same terminal 5 for flight to DFW.
Just totally fricking ridiculous. Unless I have 4+ hours for a connection I will refuse to fly through LHR.

Absolutely ridiculous for an airport of that caliber to deal with lines like that.
We were in Dublin in May and stood in line for 2.5 hours just to get to security.

I’d like to know the percentage of passengers missing International flights due to this mess for a connection

We went through it recently - wife and I both need wheelchairs to travel around LHR and we get moved to the front of the line. At least there are some minor advantages to our disabilities.

Paris was the same way a couple months ago. Was connecting through on a flight back to the US. Total shitshow and still can't believe I made it to my next flight

Are the headaches mostly being seen by travelers connecting through LHR? If that's my origin airport, will I have an easier time?

We started our return from AMS this morning but stayed at the Sheraton connecting to the airport and walked through last night to get our bearings. This morning at 5am it was already packed dug to a lack of security workers. We were able to go from check in to the gate in one hour but I had read it was taking 2-3 hours

And the baggage situation was another huge issue at heathrow
There was basically hangers full of luggage just chilling as nobody was working it .

I think you fine if LHR is your origin airport, the biggest issues I had were having to go through security again to get into the terminal, which in and of itself is absolutely idiotic. I wouldn't trust less than a 4 hour connection right now.
Baggage may be a different story.

I just went through LHR twice at the end of May and also in June. Was in and out within 5-10 minutes

Went through Heathrow in July on way back to JFK. I was stunned when I walked in and saw the lines. I made the comment that there was no way I was going to make my flight and a really nice Delta lady said "follow me." Took me to an elevator and card swiped me in to the First Class Lounge. They have their own check in desk and their own damn security check point. There were two people in line.
I went from "I won't make my flight" to "I have an hour to sit down and eat."
