It's a giant law firm. A bunch of work has to be done to research cases. Lots of cold calling, interviews, vetting experts, etc. One department has to get their work done by a deadline so the next department can meet theirs.

That makes sense.

FWIW I am only speaking in this thread about my experience with my employees over 7 years and to our industry. It's fairly easy for me to outline their jobs and my expectations and let them do their jobs. They call me for anything they can't handle alone.
