The entire "severe weather" trope is a bass-ackwards hoax.
The lead author and actual weather expert on IPCC AR4 concluded that weather would become more mild since the climate sims indicated that all of the warming would take place toward the poles. If that is the case, then there is less tension and energy in the system.
He is supported by both recorded history and geological history. Warm eras have milder weather. Ice ages produce violent storms.
