Could be wrong, just my opinion but Woodward ain't cutting bait with Beth (especially with the recent extension) unless there is a SURE BET upgrade.
But if Beth were to be back next year I still think staff changes were needed regardless. I know we say every year is a critical year lately for Beth but we basically lose the entire starting lineups after next year and TX/OU are joining the SEC that next season. So changes HAD to happen very quick for Beth if she wanted to be here long term still.
So Lindsey taking the HC job was best for all parties. She gets an opportunity to be. HC at a P5 program and there is now an open spot to make a legit hire. Whether they hire someone competent or of quality is another discussion for a later date but at least there is new blood at least coming in

No offense to Simmons (who I'm sure does a great job) but that would be incredibly lazy to just promote from within instead of injecting new blood that can actually help elevate your program which has been struggling...

Sandy was already move up to a paid position next year because of the new rule allowing a paid 3rd assistant. So someone else can still be hired

Thanks for clarifying. I knew the paid third assistant coach was coming around but didn't know when

Somebody tell Beth she needs to go back to Stanford for a transfer pitcher like that Freshman throwing for them. Its time to go get some riseballing 71-73's instead of what we have been seeing. This Stanford Pitcher might be better than Carley Hoover was

Easily best name in the portal right now. Top pitchers IMO are tougher to come by

I might ask Middle Tennessee what they think of her... lol 8 runs in 5 innings.
Kinda strange that she pitched for UCA at the Tuscaloosa Regional, and then went straight to the portal right back to Tuscaloosa
Honestly, I had a great view watching Middle Tennessee beat up on her... she had incredible velocity (70+), but the pitches were flat so they got 10 hits off if her in 4.2 innings. But, if she gets movement with that speed, she could be wicked good.

Yeah I know she got roughed up in her start against Middle. As a matter of fact I was quite surprised because of the big deal made about her and her team in that regional as a possible upset winner.
Also amused like you are that she winds up at Bama after appearing in their regional. I wonder how much sneaking around had to take place for that deal to be finalized

The UCA fans were really confident they were going to beat out Alabama to go to the supers.
Before Saturday nights elimination game a couple of their dads stopped me and said that MTSU wasn't going to score tonight. I said "I hope you didn't use all of your run coupons vs Long Island just now!" One replied that they still have run coupons that they didn't use from the shutout the day before. I said that run coupons don't roll over from the previous day... lol
And we shut them out again!! It was glorious. Now what are they going to do that both stud pitchers are gone??

Well all is quiet at the LSU compound. No news leaks? Anyway, I wonder how many of Leftwich's flock portal out of here and follow her to Raleigh. Bishop Beth will apparently

The WCWS series was surprising to me in that pitching was more instrumental in Oklahoma's championship than scoring a bunch of runs. Championship pitching is lacking at LSU. We have no one like the Stanford and Oklahoma aces.
I still can't get over the fact we gave up a shite ton of runs to Louisiana on that Sunday and the Cajuns scored ZERO in the Supers. BTW, The Washington Freshman P was better than anything LSU has.
