Diagnostic mode shows 32 volts, 0.1 amps, 0000 ppm salt. Cell is clean and water has 3400 ppm NaCl.

I assume it’s trashed but I thought I’d ask.

Have you cleaned the ionizer and the small inlet filter?

SL32 2R025 part number

In my experience, this means the consumable Cell is dying/dead. I think I have extended the life of mine in the past by doing acid dips 2 or 3 times a year to address calcium buildup.

It is also very common for parts of the circuit board in the main box to go bad. As mentioned by qualityF, a $3 thermistor is the most common single part and can be removed and replaced using a soldering iron. I have also bought rebuilt circuit boards on eBay with good results.

In my opinion, salt water is the way to go, but it ain't cheap. I swear Hayward thinks their cells are made of solid gold. I have not had good luck with any after-market replacement cells

good luck

Cell was dead. $900 to replace but it worked as soon as I plugged in the new cell.

Thanks for the suggestions.

How old was your cell that went bad?

Not sure. We bought this house in 2020 and the pool was already installed.

I’m afraid I may be in the same boat. Taylor test kit and TFP started today.

I’d recommend that you get a dummy cell for the winter months for when you shut it down for the season. It’s basically just some heavy duty pvc that sits in place of the cell so that it’s not exposed to the daily grind in a part of the year you aren’t using the pool.
