Louisiana only please.
Where/who have you had the best experience with speck hunting in Louisiana.
I’ve tried a few different outfitters with little success over the past couple years.

Doug's or Sportsman Charters in Gueydan

Did you lodge or drive in? What are the rates like
Posted on 9/13/22 at 11:15 am to AtchafalayaRoute
I'll second Sportsman charters
I think drive in is $250 a gun and overnight is $350.
Also, Henning's Guide Service in Thornwell. I think the over night rate is $550 a day not sure about drive up.
Henning's is more of a upscale atmosphere while Sportsman's is a good ol baw set-up.
Both have really good success goose hunting and I have had great hunts with both.

Top Gun Guide Service up in Jones, LA beats them up pretty good. Especially early.

If that Johnny Wink wouldn't go there under any circumstances. He cost me a lot of money.

No this isn’t Johnny’s outfit but he can kill a Speck or 2 as well but he isn’t known for being the most hospitable as I guess you have found out. That’s why I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.

We had a good experience with Specklebelly Hunting Club in Thornwell a few years ago. No lodging, so just drive in hunts.

I took a customer sitting on a multi million dollar project and he told 3 off color Hispanic jokes before I told him to shut up or I would shut him up. BTW the customer's mother was from Mexico. Dumb bastard he is.....

He must not be making a habit out of it because he’s been in business longer than 75% of the guide services in the state.
What happened?

How clean was his blind?
How many spent shells around it?

Ouch, that’s bad.
Anytime I take customers, writers or entertainers hunting, I always let the outfitter know up front what is acceptable.

Colby Daniels w/ Top Gun in Mer Rouge kills the shite out of them. As ducks have petered out over the years around there, the geese haven't. They're in there thick.
Johnny Wink, a little north of there, kills them too. But as mentioned be careful who you bring. His give a shite is non existent. I wish somebody could find that facebook deal where he cussed the shite out of that Shreveport baw. It was hilarious

Yep Johnny has zero filter at times but overall he is a solid guy and a hell of a duck/goose hunter. That is why he has been in business for as long as he has, but most of that is repeats. You want to get on some birds, talk guy shite, and hunt a pit that probably hasn’t been cleaned in a decade, well Johnny is ur guy.
You want to kill ducks and geese with a professional outfit run by a very cool dude, then Colby at Top Gun is ur guy.

Just about knee deep, and that damn dog would parade around shaking water off in front of the blind and shower everyone.

Top gun is one I will have to give a try.
I’m sure johnnys is fine too but I’m not one for racist behavior or jokes

I've had good success at both mentioned here in NELA - Top Gun and Megabucks.
I'd say that the previous descriptions are accurate.
Stan Liner at Fowl Play in the Oak Grove/Jones area is another low-key operation. He only takes a few guided groups each year, though.
