I didn’t say anything about FSU and Sourhern being on par. FSU is way better than Southern. But Daniels played with our 1st string against FSU. Nuss played with a mix of 2nd, 3rd and walkons against Sourhern. Our 3rd string this year is weak due to poor depth and our walkons are on par with Southern’s starters.
Daniels looked bad for 3 quarters against FSU as a QB, but great as a RB. Daniels looked very good in the 4th quarter against FSU’s prevent defense, but he made some really good plays for which he deserves credit. Then he looked great against Southern with our starters.
Nuss made 2 bad decisions, and maybe a 3rd, but he looked good as a QB on most of the plays. He was accurate on most throws when his receivers finished their routes. Those backups dropped multiple passes. Also, Nuss was playing with a musical chairs lineup of linemen and RBs. He clearly made some dumb decisions, and if he can’t make better decisions to protect the ball, then he won’t be successfull, but I saw potential. I saw a player that didn’t want to give up on any play. I saw the gunslinger. However, gunslingers also get killed due to risk taking. By far the biggest concern with Nuss is his decision making. He is very talented, but I don’t know if that is fixable. He can be great, if he can correct that.
