I believe it's real. But not for the reasons the MSM says. I think DEMS in the US are embedded in Ukrainian corruption, which is why we are involved.
To be more specific. I firmly believe COVID, and other diseases, were cultivated in ukraine prior to the election, so DEMS could force mail-in-ballots onto the American public. Also, the Biden family has $$$ ties to Ukraine and China.
Yes, there is a HUGE reason we are involved. MSM won't investigate it.

So run of the mill corruption domestically - book deals, lobbyist revolving door is too complicated so they ran it through a unstable country and manufactured a virus that is mutating and unpredictable and used an additionally unpredictable conflict to cover it up to get some amount of dough in an inflationary on the brink economy. Occam’s razor!

This Ukrainian invasion had the invasion set with our (the west) inaction on the invasion of Georgia, Syria's "red line", the Iran payoff, the non response to Turkey's coup attempt, the Afghanistan fark-up, and... the EU laughing at the prospect of being tied to Russian energy as not being a national security issue.
