The program needs to reestablish equilibrium. The kids need some confidence. The fans need something to get excited about.

Beat State in a packed Tiger Stadium and everything changes. We can be 4-1 heading into the Tennessee game. By then the coaches should know exactly what they have and how to use it.

8-4. I’m planting my flag on this hill.

Will Rodgers was 38-49 for 450 yards 5 TD. Imagine what he does to this soft arse defense.

Beating MSU at home shouldn't bring the sun out. A win @ Auburn will.

That'll be a tall task. Will Rogers has the ability to put up lots and lots of yards on this zone "bend, but don't break" defense.

Lmao at that coached team we saw being able to scheme up a formidable game plan against Leach.
They didn’t even have their field goal unit ready to play.

Why shouldn't it?

This isn't Grandpa's Mississippi St. They are a good team.

The way we defended the intermediate routes against Florida St, if we beat Miss St. I would be pretty pleased and it should definitely bring the sunshine back..

Jesus Christ lol. That was our best defensive performance since 2019. It’s not saying much but our boundary coverage was great and run defense was solid. We left a lot to be desired in the middle of the field. Coverage of tight ends and slot receivers was terrible. When FSU needed a conversion that’s what they went to.

A lot of that is communication between linebackers and safeties who have never played together before. It certainly wasn’t an elite defense but far more competent than the last two seasons. The lone coverage bust was on a flea flicker, when compared to 2020 and 2021 we had guys running wide open for huge gains on every drive. It’s far from perfect, but I came away hopeful that it will be solid.

Are you fricking stupid or did you watch the game with your eyes closed? They converted almost every 3rd down.
Also the defense from Bama last year says hello. Dummy.

Agree and this team will get better and better as the year progresses. Strange things happen every year, every season.

I literally explained why in my post.

The bama game happened because we finally decided to blitz and they were totally unprepared for it. Bryce Young still threw for more yards and more yards per attempt than FSU did. I get it he was a heisman winner with better receivers and an all around better team. Sunday was also the first time anyone in this secondary played a single down of live action together. 1 on 1, we won most of the time. We struggled to cover slot receivers and tight ends between our linebackers and safeties.

We are bottom tier SEC.

It’s sad we might not even be more talented than miss state now in football.

If we can't beat a mid-tier ACC team, we aren't beating mid-tier SEC Teams.

This is a 6-6 team right now. Hope I'm wrong.

That soft zone defense is going to drive me crazy as a fan. Hopefully they change it up like they did last year and try something new soon. That is painful to sit through. Teams like MSU will put up 500+ yards easily.

Ironically, that soft zone defense is exactly what you want to play against State. If you play man the whole game like Pelini did two years ago they will torch you. Keep everything in front of you and force them to dink and dunk until they make a mistake. Leach won't run the ball even when you're begging him to do it.

I was talking with a coworker this morning. Lot of positives after reflecting a bit on the game. The result sucks, but the season isn't over yet.
