Just wanted to give a shameless plug for the team at the Renaissance Denver Downtown. I've spent a ton of time at this particular hotel this year and when I hit my 75th night, they had a small surprise of a bottle of wine and a handwritten note in my room.

I mentioned something to my buddy the bartender about the fact that I don't drink white wine and, when I checked in today, there was a bottle of champagne left in my room.

If anyone is looking for a place to stay in Denver this is it!

*Shameless plug over*

today is the 241st day of the year. You’ve spent 75 of those days at the Renaissance hotel in Denver? They should give you a name tag and a uniform LOL

I just returned from a 4 day golf trip in Denver and I have to be honest, That city is terrible. It is just a nasty town. Well, let me clarify, there are a few nice blocks and then a few really nasty areas, then back to being a nice city again. It is just not my kinda place and I cant stand the smell of weed around every street corner. I hope your experience there is better than mine.

I'm out here most weeks for work, so I'm realy just going back and forth between the hotel and the office. 16th street, and a decent chunk of downtown, has gotten really bad with homeless people all high on who knows what. The rest of the city in my experience is really quite nice.

Denver is terrible. Homeless everywhere. People are rude and not friendly. Anywhere you go there are trash liberals with nose rings and colored hair. Been trying to catch up to Boulder for years. Just a nasty place all around.

Sorry for the hijack

My brother lives on 21st St a few blocks down from Coors Field. He is 30 yrs old and single, so he loves it there. Being 40 and married, its just not for me. Did get to visit the Coors Facility in Golden so that was cool. The golf courses there are amazing compared to what we have in NELA

The Coors tour is cool. I think that frozen Coor's Light mountain tap in the tap room is the only one left in the world.

That was pretty cool. I asked what was so special about it and the guy laughed and said that the only thing different is the temp is set to just below freezing so its colder

Is the new hotel in the old Colorado bank building? If so, that hotel is legit and really well run. The bar downstairs is awesome. I stayed there last year.

It sucks too, because Denver was so awesome just 6+ years ago. Same with Seattle. Loved visiting both cities and walking around. Stopping at bars. Going to a ball game. I haven't been to Seattle since 2016. Went to Denver in November and felt exactly how you did. Place is a shite hole.

Cherry Creek area is still awesome. That's one of my favorite areas anywhere.

Is the union station area good or overrun with bums? In February I have to spend two nights in Denver to meet some clients before me and the family head to the mountains to ski. I’m just looking for a good area for the wife and kids to hang out while I’m in meetings.

Not sure why you got blasted but I agree with some of what you said. I enjoyed Denver as it had nice parts and the views beat La but there was more bums than I expected and the whole city seems to be hipsters with colored hair.

Surprisingly Topeka and emporia Kansas is very similar with the colored hair culture.

The Union Station area seemed ok. Safe and lots of shops and stuff. There were some bums being a hub for travel but it wasnt too bad

Yes.

Denver is absolutely disgusting.

Its has been completely ruined by Dems.

Basically, its the place you fly to on your way to Breck or Vail.
