Is that little neighborhood behind LADOTD for state government?

Looks like a 1960s/1970s development with larger lots and nicer homes - it's a different format from the rest of the area, and backs up to an industrial/warehouse district. But it's also kind of isolated with the lake on one side and the rail yard on the other and the governor's mansion in the front of it.

Is this public housing for government officials?

I think they're supposed to store jersey barriers and hot patch mix in a variety of colors (to make sure the patches never match the color of the original pavement) there.

I believe Huey P long had a house there. That is not a section 8 hood.

Lakeridge/Capitol View is, by far, the nicest neighborhood in North Baton Rouge.

It is a nice neighborhood. Mostly corporate housing for lobbyists and people who work closely with state government.

Fun fact Ted Dunham road is back there. His widow bailed out Chapel Trafton to change the name to Dunham to help with her late husbands reputation.

I don't think so. They did install some removable bollards recently at the service entrance to the governor's mansion.

They built nice houses in the past and I was always told bankers and lawyers and whomever thought it would be nice to live near downtown. I know there’s some lobbyist parties up in there on occasion. I’ve always assumed some of the houses are used by lobbyists and politicians.

They have nice digs.

I know there are some private residences in there too.

Just a neighborhood that’s been around for a long time for wealthier and connected people.

The BRPD union has a house back there as well unless I am mistaken.
