It has been the most pleasant August that I can remember, rain or not.

You call this shite pleasant? Tried to hit a bucket of balls Wednesday (can’t believe the range was open at bayou oaks with how wet it is) and all 4 gloves I brought were completely unusable after about 50 balls.

Only one August day above 90 here, but the average high has been 85.38 so we have been upper 80s plenty.

June and July were both hotter.

ETA: Last August had 13 days 90+ and averaged over 2 degrees hotter than this year so far. The forecast does have us at 91-92 for a high S/S/M though so might catch up a bit.

94 homicides this year, thus far. Typically, August is the deadliest month of the year, but this year due to the cooler temps and rain have led to fewer deadly shootings.

I think North La had over 60 days of 100+ back in 1980. Almost a month straight at one time.

Those cooler summers are amazing.

Explain to me "normal weather"

Unlike June, when we had a high-pressure bubble over us for three weeks, it was hot as frick. Now, we have a low-pressure system that been hanging around giving us lots of rain. It's been cooler now in August than it was in June..

Would you rather daily 98 degree temps with $500 electric bills...?

That's because your August bill comes in September.

It isn't. It is 2.2° below normal, which is 92.4°. I'll let you figure out what the average temp for August has been to this point.

2021 - 89.9°

We haven't had torrential downpours most days. It's just been overcast with scattered showers more days than not. The ground is definitely soggy though.

I would argue that June was even more abnormal than August for its respective norm trend.
