Because the government forced the economy and people to stop working.

You do realize these are the same people that also was against giving people money when the Government shut down the economy?

It's sad that people don't understand this difference. Regardless of anybody's views on the two they are fundamentally different.
And I say that as someone who never got a stimmy dime, PPP or anything else during this shitshow.
