Not really sure how I feel about this to be honest. I'm a huge Pantera fan, but this just doesn't seem right.

That being said, I will more than likely go see them.

Phil Anselmo
Rex Brown
Zakk Wylde - Solo Artist and Former Ozzy Osbourne Guitarist
Charlie Benante - Anthrax Drummer

Is this 6 weeks ago? You don't think there's been threads on this?

You at least have to come with tour dates to start another thread.

I wasn't here six weeks ago so I wouldn't know.

As a rule of thumb if you hear 6 week old news and try to break the story, it's probably already been on here.

Simply Google, "pantera tigerdroppings"

I couldn't skip the thread, I thought he was coming with tour dates. Wasted like a minute of my day.
Then I had to look up the old thread and reply, that wasted another few minutes.
Now I'm replying to you, Jesus this is getting out of hand.

As far as tour dates go I have only heard of a couple of rumors that this thing will kick off in Brazil in November of this year I think and then to Mexico I think it was in December. Been a few days since I heard those so I do not know if those have been made official or not. I’m pretty sure I’m remembering right about the Brazil date but the Mexican date I could be wrong about.

I was reading rumors a few years ago about this happening just before or right after the Pandemic started and it was talking about this happening and getting Kerry King to step in on guitar since Slayer was done. I was a very hard no at the time but after reading this article it got me to really thinking about it and after I thought about it a little while I had evolved hard on the subject.

What finally brought me around was a few things but the main thing was that every day Pantera did not reunite with the surviving members is basically letting that murdering POS that shot Dime not only have the last word but it just let him win and that is just so wrong!!! If that bastard had not killed Dime there is no doubt that Pantera would have reunited and we would have had several more Pantera albums today. Between CFH in 1990 and 101 proof Pantera was putting out an album every 2 years. The years between 101 and RITS was the longest gap. If Dime had lived the night he was killed and he lived up until Vince passed in 2018 then Pantera could have possibly put out up to 5 more albums if they reunited after Phil got clean and had his surgery on his neck. I have no doubt they would have. So the world was robbed of 4 or 5 more Pantera albums unless Dime had passed in some other way. That’s just hard for me to swallow. There isn’t anything we can do to ever change the past. We can’t get those years or possible albums back. The one thing we can do though is refuse to give Dimebags killer the last word. We can’t change what he done but we can damn sure drown out the echos of what he done in Dec of 2004 with loud heavy celebratory music and honoring both Vince and Dime.

Wylde will probably do a good job but I hope he doesn't use his patented pinch harmonics sound every 2 seconds

I'm in.

Zakk and Charlie are perfect.

Phil and Rex can still bring it and Pantera's songs are still better than most new heavy music.

So why not?

I just reported the first 3 shows that have been announced. I didn’t list the name of the band.

How is Phil? Last video I ever saw of the guy was bad. He was in no shape to go on a world tour.

High AF on prescription meds or straight up heroin.

I just saw him with Down. He was great but definitely not the Phil of the 90’s & even 10 years ago but he can still sing. He can’t really move around that much due his prior back surgeries & the hard toll he has put on his body inside & out. It’s going to be interesting how he does on this tour. Doing Pantera songs is an entire other world than singing with Down.

because without the Abbott brothers you're going to see a glorified cover band. If you want to see Phil that bad I can tell you where he lives and you can save some money.

Phil was doing a pretty long Pantera set with the Illegals anyway. All this is doing is improving the quality of the set by a bunch. This won’t be a bunch of bums going out on stage like it’s karaoke night. If folks would change the word Reunion to Tribute then this show becomes a lot more understandable and a lot more fun to think about. If nothing else look at it this way all they are doing is touring Dimebash.
