So the Southlanders sided with evil and have been punished ever since.
Rings of Power Showrunner:
“So yeah, we (they/them)were thinking the Southlanders are basically the Confederates of Middle Earth and we wanted a fantasy take on the Civil War. The first Civil War actually took place in Middle Earth. Robert E. Lee actually quoted Tolkien at the Second Battle of Bull Run. If you noticed in Fellowship, they were tearing down Southlander statues in an effort to improve race relations at that time. Our story we have to tell is so much more important than the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I hope our viewers are smart enough to realize it.”

Ismael Cruz Córdova Promotes ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ With Identity Politics: “There Will No Longer Be A Time Where You Can Say There Are No Elves Of Color. So we erased that one, you know?”
I’m honestly looking forward to this dumpster fire at this point. The memes mocking it are going to be incredible.

Satire right? Tolkien was born in 1892...@nd Manassas was 1862
It's hard to tell in 2022 what is and isn't satire. The lines are severely blurred and nothing surprises me anymore
