The Case for Jayden Daniels
Posted on 8/13/22 at 12:24 pm

Let me preface this by saying I feel content with any QB getting the first snaps against Florida State.
Daniels as a true freshman threw 17 touchdowns and 2 interceptions when he had some decent talent to throw to which showed a lot of promise. Yeah last year he threw 10/10 but still completed 65% of his passes which was supposedly the best in the PAC. He’s also had multiple 300+ yard games already. Also remember their program is in complete disarray now.
Now let’s consider the insane talent he has at receiver at LSU that he never had at AZ state. He could very well blow it up On top of his ability to run like the wind if the pocket collapses. Very interested in his potential here.

Nobody else wants to talk about this though, everybody wants to talk about Myles

What people are forgetting is how much progress he’s made since the spring. Dude has better technique, actual rapport with the receivers (especially nabers as y’all will see this year), and has taken complete command of the offense. He’s just so comfortable now. Brennan still hesitates too much because he’s afraid to make a mistake (according to t-bob, tigerbait, AYS, etc.)

Let's throw in in insane defensive talent on defense in the SEC.
WHY EVERYONE IGNORES THIS FACT.

Shoot with all the transfers we had, there no need to make a case for Jayden. I’ll take whoever wants it and whoever Coach Kelly decides. We hired him for a reason right?

The thing I fear with a running QB is an offense that becomes too dependent on their running ability and takes away touches from the exceptional skill position players LSU brings in.
I'd rather see a John Emery run or a Boutte quick slant before a Daniels run.
I don't want LSU to go back to a run heavy offense, you can't beat Bama with that and Daniels will risk injury if he runs too much.

He's also got MUCH better coaching at LSU. He's a great spot to succeed as are the other QBs.

Yeah the hope would be he only runs out of necessity unless the play calls for it. But remember that Alabama has most of its notably losses against QBs with some running ability. In 2019 I remember Burrow making 3-4 runs for pivotal first downs

Nuss has almost no SEC experience.. Daniels is growing on me. 45 total TD’s and beat the team who embarrassed us. Everyone acts like other conferences have no talent. BK is probably going to start multiple qbs this season we are not going undefeated so I would like a vet taking 1st game snaps especially a guy that is dynamic with the ball in his hands and throws a beautiful deep ball. He could end up being a star you never know. I was rooting for Nuss because I believe he can be special as well I just think we need a vet starting 1st game.

You know what it is? It's just stupid TALK! That's ALL it is! No one here knows jack shite! Yet, they come on here and preach for this guy or that guy. It's crap! I root for the TEAM! Whoever is in at QB, I root for THAT guy! The team!
I don't care who starts. And I won't say this guy is better than that guy because of how I "feel" or what I think I know. Cause I know nothing!
Watching short clips of certain practices or thinking I can read between the lines of "coaches speak" doesn't mean I know anything and no one on here knows anything either.
All of you just talk about your feelings. Your biases. And it's divisive as shite!
The team doesn't do it, but many of you insist on it. Dumbasses.

Exactly! Just wanted to share some thoughts on how Daniels could ball out for the Tigers if he were to start

You’ll absolutely see a Cain/Emery run and boutte quick slant before a Daniels run. I am concerned with injury though. He needs to slide a lot…

History tells us that the transfer on the roster will be our QB.

quote:That is way overrated as he was throwing to his running back most of the time in a run heavy offense. He is probably closer to 55-60% in a regular offense, at best.

Having said that, the only thing I have seen of him is a little bit of game highlights and the Spring game, which obviously was bad. If he has turned the corner, great, but I would still worry about his inaccuracy.

JD put up 42 against a ranked UCLA in a win with ASU talent.
Max put up 28 vs UCLA in a loss with LSU talent.

Because Myles and Nuss has been amazing against the SEC, don’t bring the State, Missouri, or Vandy game we all know they are bottom feeders and the talent that have isn’t the same as Bama Georgia and LSU at least Daniels has performed against the likes of USC and Oregon

This is the exact correct response and a logical one.
I always get downvoted when I say this.
His skill set is not WR friendly.
It is running back and read option with your long shots down the field.
We might have one reciever with 50 or 60 catches and good numbers but the rest will be in the 20's.
And just think we got him for 2 years.
