I joined the Air Force in 1990 and stayed active duty til 2004. 2004 til 2022 been an Art ( Acive Reserve Techician) and have accumulated 7183 points towards retirement. It takes 7200 to retire with an active duty retirement. I was notified today that from here on out I'm pay no points. If I retire in October I will receive 4.7k at 56 years old. I'm 49 and will be 50 in December. If I stay one more year I will receive atleast 4.9k a month without pay raises. I'm a CMSgt. E9.
I already hate the way the military has been headed for atleast 15 years.
I have a masters in Aviation Management but don't really know how the civilian world works. Should I stay the extra year?
BTW no kids just me and the Mrs. Whom is also retired Air Force.
