Send me an email. Let me see if I can help you. Going to depend on insurance company, etc. Let me see the adjuster report and the email you sent. I may be able to just send them a letter and let them know it's in good enough shape. matt@tri21roofing.com

Mine did something similar before Ida. 21 yr old roof. Had me get an inspection. inspection said 5-7 years left. Insurance then said they were no longer covering shingle roofs over 20yrs old, and would not renew in December if it wasn’t changed. 20yrs sounded like a ridiculous arbitrary number. But we were planning to change it this year anyway. Ida helped us and they paid for full replacement. Put that towards metal. Point is, sounds a lot like what my insurance did, even though they ended up paying out well for the storm. They may have a low max age, especially if unknown and already repaired, on a shingle roof.
