He’d have probably gotten a raise if he said cracker.

He shouldn’t have said the word.

He’s a man.

He’s older than 40

In the words of Richard Marx, should’ve known better

Universities are infected with a cancer. They are almost all too far gone to salvage.

If the word is so shameful and hurtful…..what’s going to happen to the player?

The forbidden N word. It’s magic.

Venables must have wanted to get rid of him but needed political cover since the guy had been there for 23 years.

I missed it and am assuming it was the "N" word? I love language. I love how me saying "N word" is somehow better than using the word.

When anyone says "the N word", we all say it in our head or know the word. It's silly and a complete game.

Can we send OU back to the Little 12?

Geez such that whiney piece over a freaking word that is used daily by the people that cry "offended".

Him resigning on his own made earns him no sympathy points from me though. Cowards move.

100% guarantee that eventually, 'Jesus', will be a banned word.

Thread title is misleading. He wasn't fired. It's unknown if he would have been fired if he didn't resign.

According to your article, he resigned. Which is it?

This smells. There has to be more here. No one stood up to say “coach you didnt mean to…its ok”??

Or maybe okla taking the chance to let ole baw retire while virtue signaling on way out to hide other blatant racial offenses elsewhere in the admin?

there has to be more to this story.
I suspect Venables is cleaning house and he served himself up on a platter.
OU has been hypersensitive about racial shite ever since that frat video surfaced a few years ago, "there'll never be a n***** SAE" chant.

A few questions.

Who from the meeting room whined about the poo-poo word? A player? Does the team know who it is? Are they happy about it?

Does anything happen to the player who walked around with an iPad with such an evil word on it? Or is it just "the word that must not be spoken aloud by a cracker"?
