What makes ZERO sense to me is ALL these companies already operate in countries with high vegetarian populations. Instead of researching fake burgers why not just offer a veggie option from the Indian or Other foreign McDonald's?

The McDonald's in India don't even have burgers on the menu.

Seriously. I'd be happy to have more vegetable options in fast food. I can even eat a Morningstar Farms veggie patty that doesn't taste like hamburger. Why is so much money being invested into making chemical paste taste like shitty spoiled meat? It only makes sense as part of a larger effort to condition people away from eating beef.
