Quick Response Please! Changing Terminals at Heathrow

We were scheduled to depart DFW at 7:00 pm, but we just got a text and fax from British Airways telling us our flight from DFW to Heathrow has been delayed two hours. We originally had three hours to get to a different terminal for our connection to Budapest. Now it looks like less than an hour. Will we make it? (BTW, wife will require a wheelchair.)
(BA said they would reschedule us if we missed our connection, but that could put us into Budapest during the wee hours of the morning.)
ETA. Sorry I didn’t get a fax. It was an email

You'll likely be fine if you have the full hour.
I can't imagine them shutting the gates on someone who is on the ground, en route to the gate, and in a wheelchair.
If they do, then you should ask for as much free shite as you can get.

Thanks, that gives me a little bit of comfort.

Good luck and have an amazing trip!

that's a long flight for them to make up some time in the air flying faster and give you more than an hour. I would think with a wheelchair and short connection you would get a golf cart ride to your next gate.

Heathrow has been an unqualified mess this summer....so maybe plan for arrival in Buda in the wee hours. Find out if your hotel has a 24 hr front desk, make sure they know you might be in extremely late...figure out a solid transport option for that time of night.

You are fricked most likely.
Did this a few weeks ago where the BA flight getting to the airport was delayed for a connection to DFW, if you are changing terminals, you will have to get on the bus that takes about 15 minutes then clear security again, which is woefully understaffed.
If you checked bags, you may want to reclaim and recheck them as they have been delayed and still at Heathrow.
Your saving grace may be that the flight to Budapest is also delayed, especially if it is a British Airways flight.

You should be fine and good luck.
But did I read that right? You received a fax from an airline?

I had a connection at LHR in May. Less than an hour would not have been enough time.

Did it 2 weeks ago. 1hr will not be enough time with or without bags. It sucks, but I'd try to change flight plans to avoid LHR if at all possible. Even if you did make the connection, your checked bags will not. They lost ours for 3 days and a 2hr connection.

Yes, both a fax and an email. It was too late to reschedule our limo so we’re sitting in the Wayfarer Lounge awaiting our 9:00 pm departure

I had the same problem in Germany a few years ago. They kept the plane waiting for 20-30 minutes for us to make it, ha. I felt bad for everyone else, but my wife and I were the only ones who had a delayed flight to get onto that leg.

Around a year before covid I did this, and then had to take another bus and go through security yet again. And then they won't tell you which gate you have until about 50 minutes before the flight. Heathrow is the worst, it was just crazy stupid.
