Going in a couple of weeks. Wife, me and our 9 year old picky daughter. So any suggestions for restaurants in NYC before the shows we see (Music Man Friday, Hamilton Saturday).

Rezdora is fantastic and we went there right before seeing Jeff Daniels in To Kill A Mockingbird.
The executive chef came from working under Massimo Bottura at Osteria Francescana, one of (if not) the best restaurants in the world. They do a similar Emilia Romagna style menu, but in New York.
Downside is you won’t have time for the full pasta tasting menu, but I still would recommend it.

The slices at Sbarro in Times Square are amazing. Great atmosphere too

I gave this some thought and I would suggest 44 & X.
It is upscale American and has beef, fowl, seafood, and even hamburgers on the menu so everyone should be able to get something they like. It is also ~10 min walk to Richard Rodgers Theater. A little longer to Winter Garden (I assume Magic Man is still there).
44&X is where my wife and I go pre-theater when we have less adventurous eaters along ie old folks. It is relaxed for a NYC restaurant also.

John’s pizza in Time Square is a good quick meal before a show. Coal fired pizza, and a decent bar John’s

the search function sucks balls on here, but this is a popular thread topic and there have been some pretty solid replies to this question before

Los Tacos #1.
This isn’t a sit down restaurant, but when I was in nyc last fall, I went here a couple of times because it was close to my hotel near Times Square. I went before a show too. Great tacos, you actually eat them standing up. Don’t let the line scare you away, it goes fast. I thought it was great for a quick meal when you don’t want to risk missing start of show.
