This is a player controlled website/club?
That's... interesting. How do you know which players are getting paid & how much?

I almost wouldn’t call this a collective exactly. When I think of collective , I think of groups of boosters putting money together to setup deals with sponsors for players
I agree with this. Not sure about the rest of what you said about a "return on investment"
This is not a "collective". This is a subscription plan, that I hope was organized by players, where you pay per month for access.

So essentially a premium message board where money goes to players. I think this idea was floated here before and nothing happened.

After taxes that probably only about $500 a player. A lot of the guys on the team are not getting huge NIL deals. In the grand scheme of things it’s really not a ton of money.

That's not much when you consider how massive the fanbase is. That's $600k per year. That would be like every season ticket holder kicking in $10.
This could work if it's run properly and the content is there. If they treat it like a pay-for-play loophole, it will fail.

Is this just for football? Women's sports too?

When people ask for money, they should list like 4-5 different ways to send funds. Instead they just give you a link to use credit card.

A&M just started a "College Station NIL Club." Apparently a lot of schools are doing it.

No , it’s a way to help the program as an average fan .
I guess they feel like they don’t suck enough money out of an average fan on game day.

They’ll hit it once Gordon McKernan finds this!

You do realize this isn't a product of the athletic department, and the money goes to the players, right? This way, you don't have to worry about the athletic department sucking $10 or so out of those incredibly deep pockets you have

Harold Perkins just tweeted it out as well.

For how many months? Are you saying I can get a Burrow jersey for 25 bucks and then cancel/or change the amount? lol
Posted on 7/29/22 at 4:29 pm to cforester821
Gonna need a whole lot more than just BR money if we are going to compete. Where are the heavy hitters? Not just the locals on Sherwood Forest.

eems as though you can directly sponsor the players now
The problem was the schools making money on the backs of all the players.
The solution seems to be the school still making all the money on the backs of the players while the fans pay the players.
Players, win. Schools, win. Fans, not so much. Hell, with the transfer portal you could invest in a player that you really, really like and thru no fault of your own, the player leave.
This system was broken from the start.

U pledge $25 initially and they told me they will send out information on how to redeem the jersey in a few weeks. After u claim the prize, u can change the amount or cancel at anytime
