Flew back from Florence last Monday to MSY. We flew KLM from Florence to Amsterdam, KLM from Amsterdam to ATL, and Delta from ATL to MSY. In Florence they said our bags were checked through. But when we landed in ATL they said to get our baggage and recheck it in. Well my wife's bags were there but my bag was not.

Fast forward to 7 days later and Delta doesn't know where my bag is, but don't think it is lost. It was scanned into ATL but they think it never made it passed Amsterdam.

Yesterday I started my lost baggage claim, any tips or insight? If they pay me, and then find the bag do I keep the money?

Also I am aware of the craziness that is European airports especially KLM at AMS.

I don't have advice for you specifically but I just got some Airtags to throw in my checked bags for this purpose.

I read AMS was a real shitshow.

I am in a similar situation with my bag being stuck at Heathrow right now, and due to massive failures, they can't add bags back into the system yet. Going on day 9 without a bag.

At least it was on the way home.

I was stuck in Europe without a bag once for several days, that sucked.

Yeah I have heard Amsterdam, London, and Paris are all a real cluster right now.

I know this isn’t going to help your situation, but if you want a good laugh, listen to the first part of Megyn Kelly’s podcast describing how Air France/Delta lost her family’s luggage this summer. It’s pretty entertaining. Megyn Kelly lost luggage podcast.

Just flew back from Amsterdam on Friday…….I haven’t seen a clusterfrick like that in an airport in a while….we were shocked that our bags made it through.

Thoughts and prayers

Flew delta operated by KLM from Amsterdam today, literally never seen such poor service and procedures. It looked like no one around had ever gone through a boarding procedure before or ever even seen one in their life.

United quit texting me that they still couldn’t find my bag. Last the scanned info reads is that they received it in Florence. It didn’t get scanned in Munich and it wasn’t in iah when we arrived. It’s final tag is lft. I’ve been told 2-3 different things about where it was and ultimately I found it myself in lft. They still send me emails saying to go ahead and claim a loss. They have no clue. Good luck. This happened going and coming. Lucky enough to only miss 2-3 days on the actual trip with no bags. People behind me in baggage loss line in Naples said their airtags weren’t tracking, but I’d definitely try that anyway.

I got lucky last Friday as I was supposed to fly from Barcelona to Frankfurt on Lufthansa and then United to Houston. United sent me a message that they were expecting issues at Frankfurt and offered me same business class seat that opened from Barcelona to Newark to Houston. I took the change and glad I did... I hear there's a strike at Frankfurt now...

Planning our next trip in the spring with my husband and I refuse to consider anything but lft to ATL to fco in rome. I have several Italian destinations in mind but I’m not going though this shite again. I’ll train everywhere outside of Rome, but I’ll have my bags in my possession. Ridiculous!
