They weren’t his employees. He couldn’t fire them. That info has just come to light fairly recently.
On the other hand, he decentralized the response and put the decision making in the hands of the states. How is this a bad thing?

It’s not. The results, though, are that Cuomo and his ilk became murderers.

The White House COVID task force gave the governors all the cover they needed to be able to say consistently (and honestly) that they were simply “following the White House guidelines.” The 3 phase plan came directly from the White House.
People are always saying Trump should be judged on his actions, not his words. Well in this case, his actions were nothing like his public statements on reopening. He said one thing and did another.
