Given his age and size, Zions maintenance has to be way over 3k a day. He should be doing well over 1k of activity a day, sometimes more. So he has to eat over 4k just to not lose weight. He should have never gained. Should have come off really quick. I hope he keeps it off..

Just saw this. It’s kinda understandable if he gained weight, while he had a meniscus tear and a fractured foot. You can’t maintain the same level of physical activities while you are injured like that.

And obviously the injuries did a bit of a number on him mentally as well.

So his normal 4500 calorie, burning 1500 days, might have ended up turning into 5000-6000 calorie and less than 500 burn when he couldn’t run or do basketball activities. People are different. Some people don’t eat when they are down, others eat more.

Those are the times he’s been 330 pounds, when he’s been 2 months into significant injuries that impact even him walking around.

Obviously you can probably do pool work and all of that, and Zion seemed to figure out how to get in shape while not also being fully healthy during his Portland Stint.

He obviously didn’t handle things perfectly the first few years, and that coupled with bad luck, Covid, etc has resulted in a weird 3 years. He does seem to have a different level of commitment and understanding now though and that is a positive moving forward.
