So you don’t know either. Got it.
I clearly outlined what was going on but you choose to try and fit it to your narrative. Rather than veil your comments so cryptically, tell us how butt hurt you are that LSU moved on from Moffit and how LSU would have benefitted by doing the same old thing?

Moffitt definitely didn’t change with the times
Moffitt was using this same GPS/data tracking system for 8+ years during summer workouts. Not his fault that Orgeron couldn't understand how to use/relate the data to practices & game preparation.

Between 2011 - to him leaving LSU there was seasons LSU looked completely out classed in conditioning even in Miles tenure. He had a spout of health issues one season and we noticeably sucked on conditioning. Wasn't an excuse for all the seasons following it though. He was a top conditioner in NCAA for many years it just looked like at some point we needed a change. He was responsible for like what, 4-6 NC teams not including just LSU?

Do you know this as fact? Isn't it Moffit's job to utilize the data to properly and effectively get the athletes in prime condition for the upcoming season? Not wanting to turn this into a bashing thread, but if Moffit was truly at the behest of Orgeron, how was he not able to translate that in his interview with the new head coach? Something in his program did not fit the direction the new coach wanted to head in, and was honorably let go.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there has been clear evidence that LSU has been worn out late in games versus other teams. I know Moffitt was using the GPS gear because almost every year there was an article written about it. Whether or not O knew how to implement the data, I’d agree it probably was on him. However, there was still no hiding that LSU couldn’t hang late in games. Even in ‘19, we were gassed against Texas and Ole Miss. I’m not saying Flint is better yet, because we don’t have the games to compare it to yet. But it was clear to me that the off-season training was not translating to success late in games. There has to be some blame put on S&C, even if the head coach was mailing it in.
ETA: that’s probably why we wound up with Flint to begin with. Kelly knew he had a guy who could not only get his guys in shape, but someone that could present that information to him and show strengths and weaknesses. It’s a two-way street, not just one or the other.

You are trying to create a narrative from me that wasn't typed. Don't be so defensive. I asked honest questions about our data points and how we're going to be better for it against other SEC and top tiered programs... but what is this data that makes it better than what Bama is doing? Better than what auburn is doing? Better than other programs? This isn't anything to do with if its better than what LSU has done in the past.

In his defense, there really isn’t an empirical way to compare data like that that I know of. We’ll have to wait to see our performance in games to see how well we stack up. Even if the data were there, I guarantee it’s proprietary and there’s no way Saban would let that leave TTown under any circumstance. So you’re asking for something that can’t be provided.

Not necessarily. I think it was simply that Brian Kelly wanted to run his own program, not Moffitt's program, which I can respect.
Can't believe some posters still toss up the old "we looked tired late in games" excuse when talking about Moffitt's program. Too anyone with a brain, that is a practice issue.

I think it’s a combination of both, though. If practice were the only culprit, you wouldn’t need Summer conditioning, right?

The fact that this wasn't being done years ago. Just SMH
It was, specifically in 2019. There were multiple articles about the GPS devices for practice and the trackers on the weight equipment. The problem is after 2019, all accountability and organization disintegrated.

it was, thats whats funny. we have been monitoring and wearing vest and using velocity based training to track these things. You can find all of the articles in 2019 talking about it and pictures of the vest, how we were monitoring oxygen consumption, resting heart rate and sleep to get an idea of recovery etc etc
just because the last 2 years O slipped back into being the neanderthal from ole miss doesnt mean we didnt track those things.
so laughable how everyone thinks tommy moffit was years behind. At one point he was a little slow to change and to use a conjugated approach using velocity based olympic movements, velocity based power movements, strongman etc but that was a decade ago.
just because we didnt use the data doesnt mean tommy and jack werent collecting it. They talked about it in plenty of articles.
if you want to blame Tommy for being old school in anything it would be his approach to conditioning. Not that he didnt understand or know energy systems etc...its just that he beleived things like the 120s conditioning test built mental toughness and things of that nature. He was and is wrong imo but that was pretty much only thing he was old school on.

Flint learned from one of the best: Notre Dame's Matt Balis.
In 12 years at ND, Kelly was 36-13 in November, but 17-0 in his final four seasons. It's no coincidence that after Balis was appointed in January 2017, ND went 2-2 the following November, then 4-0, 5-0, 4-0 and 4-0.
Curiously Kelly's worst November was 2014 when he went 1-4, though he did manage to turn things around in his bowl game in the Music City Bowl in Nashville.

There is one idiot on this board that wouldn't blame moffitt.
It is clear he was falling behind the times. Very, very clear.
you called me one of those idiots before and Ill tell you same thing i told you then, i forgot more about S&C last week then you will ever know and tommy forgot more last night while sleeping then i will ever know.
you dont know wtf you are talking about when it comes to things tommy and jack tracked and presented to O and Les. you have no fricking clue and when O first came in he actually listened, somethign that they hadnt seen since Nick was hear. Slowly he stopped listening too.
i also think it is hilarious that people think tommy didnt care about nutrition. But it doesnt matter how much you care or present the players with their macros and how to track it if there are no consequences to not doing it.

what does Kole Taylor look like today?
I don't have any idea but hopefully he did what Kelly asked during the Spring Game, and Taylor lived in the weight room all summer.
TE is going to be interesting to watch this year. Mashburn was a blocking fool in that Florida game when Lsu kept running that same off tackle trap play over and over.
Kole Taylor had a decent spring game and had several targets, but Kelly called out the TE position as needing to develop.
It will be very interesting to see what the new weight program as accomplished with that group.

I thank Moffitt for his time here he was great but the game passed him by are teams were definitely not in great shape the last couple years you would have a few yoked guys but oline men that looked like fat and sloppy

but the game passed him by
such a stupid take. Of course, I don't expect better from many of the mouth breathers on here. Kelly wanted a complete break from the prior program. Trying to read anything else into it is just dumb.

I've always heard at some point Moffitt backed away from the day to day workout stuff and let his assistants take that over.
If true, it might point to reasons the team needed to move on from Moffitt.
We all know the strength and conditioning staff play a huge role in developing team culture. They spend the most time with the players and have a huge effect on the team. If Moffitt really was deferring to his staff members and not being with the team as much that might have been a big issue that needed change.

that was true for other sports but not football.
we needed a break from Moffitt but it was because as usual when you have been one place that long, the message became stale. much of it because of O.
all these people talking about the game passed him by and other bullshite are talking out their arse, period.
so he was great in 2019, but 2 years later he suddenly was an idiot? im sure it was him that started not holding peopel accountable, im positive it had to be his idea.
