Is it possible for some BCS-knowledgeable poster (comparable to LSUMATT) to start a weekly "who to root for" thread that breaks down each game that could affect LSU's BCS title hopes?

I realize it might be a bit ambitious this far out, but maybe in a couple weeks if we've gotten past Georgia and Alabama it would be a useful thread?

Just an idea - I do this on the Saints board as the NFL playoff chase heats up but I don't know if I have the knowledge to pull off a college BCS version.

LSU controls their own fate. You should cheer for UF to be 11-1 so you can TRY and avenge your only loss. If you guys do that, I think you go to Miami....maybe even over an unbeaten Penn State. Really just cheer for Ohio State to win Saturday and the rest is in your hands.

No way they snub and 12-1 SEC champ who avenged their one loss....and is the defending champs.

Hey I guess I do remember that now - but it was pretty late in the year.

It would be nice if we can start that next week assuming that we beat Georgia.

So are you rooting for Ole Miss to win the West? j/k

I think you're probably right but I still like to know the tertiary games like rooting for teams that USC or OSU beat to lose toss-ups.

we don't need to avenge ole miss....we just need to keep winning by 30+ every week (which we have) and we get in.

All LSU has to do is win out and I think we will be in good shape. Need OSU to beat PSU, Texas to lose, and hope that BAMA is undefeated WHEN we beat them and UF be 11-1 WHEN we beat them in the SEC CG.

Other than that, not sure what else needs to happen.

At this point probably just best to pull for LSU to win.

You need LSu to win out of course, USC to lose, and either Texas or Penn St. to lose. Ou is still lurking also, but I think the voters will take car of that on the last week.

In short you guys are cheering for Temple University every week.

You are cheering against Penn st, USC, OU, UT, and OSU.

As far as cheering for florida, I would recommend against it. Yes, you want to avenge your only loss, but wouldn't you prefer to face any number of other teams in the SEC championship?

If our tigers win out, then they will likely get in. Might as well keep cheering for bama till we play them. And you want UGA to win every game except this upcoming weekend against us. These will make our wins against them more appealing to the polls.

But other than this, definately cheer for the owls.

He wasn't far off the mark. LSU brought out some nice innovations in that game against So Carolina.

I really liked seeing both LSU QB's running the offense, it kept So Carolina's Defense off balance and despite the "Lee Lovers" here, Hatch showed he can make plays with his feet against a good defense. He can also complete passes to his teammates. Which is nice.

Speaking of Defense, that was the best I've seen LSU's play all season. Granted that might not be the best offense to gauge yourself against, but with Garcia at QB they were a lot better than the team that played Vanderbilt.

When betting games, if you are wrong it doesn't matter if it's by a point or 20......you lose.

Moral victories don't exist and being close doesn't exist.

He fell into the ESPN banter and upset alert crap.

Trends showed LSU was money in that game. They hadn't lost to SC since 1994 and hadn't lost in their stadium in a long time. Hell we lead the series like 17-2 so I'm not sure if we've ever lost in their stadium.

in college football, there's no such thing as a lock. You guys were saying LSU -6 against uf was a "lock". Teasing that and getting 13 points hurt a lot of wallets in BR I bet

True enough. I didn't lay out any cash on that game because South Carolina is a bit of a bipolar team, and you never know which one's going to show up. For that matter, LSU is kinda that way too this year.

I thought both teams played well though and it was a fun game to watch.

This week I'm rooting for:
Boston College at North Carolina
Minnesota at Purdue
Texas Tech at Kansas
Kentucky at Florida
Oklahoma at Kansas State
Georgia at LSU
Oklahoma State at Texas
SMU at Navy
UCLA at California
Virginia at Georgia Tech
Colorado
at Missouri
Middle Tennessee
at Mississippi State
Ole Miss at Arkansas
Alabama at Tennessee
Notre Dame at Washington
Penn State at Ohio State
USC at Arizona

And you are probably one of the guys who thinks that if LSU and UF meet again in the SEC championship game on a neutral field the spread will be 30 by default.

Is Alabama really -7 @ Tennessee?

is Alabama:

a. Going to roll and score in bunches
b. Going to win by 7 exactly
c. Going to scrape by with less than 7 for MOV
d. Going to (shock/horror) lose SU
