Got an email saying everyone's favorite course, LaGusta will be back to 18 holes starting August 5th. Not sure if the range will be open again on that date.
guess Trey will increase the greens fees now.

What about the cart girl?

Buddy just called and asked if I wanted to play in a private event there on Sunday.
I was curious if it was still nine holes or full course. Thanks for the info

That event is most likely all 18

That's kinda what I was thinking once I saw this posted here.
Never played there before. Looking forward to it

I’ve been out the golf loop for a while, why was it only 9?

Full course hasn't been open since Ida rolled through

Got to play LaTour for the first time yesterday evening, and thoroughly impressed. Greens are absolutely perfect. Rough is not tall but thick as hell, best of luck. It was a love/hate relationship as I thought I hit some great drives only to find out how narrow the fairways were cut.
Bunkers are the worst aspect by far. Many have zero to little sand, and lots of them are complete grass.
We had to sign waivers to play (which none of us bothered to read), and then were informed that if you hit the ball into knee high grass, consider it lost. Lots of snakes, but we didn't see a single one.
Driving range is closed and heard direct from Trey that he's not reopening it. Said he's losing his arse off in people stealing range balls. First time meeting him, seemed like an alright guy minus all the Ole Miss shite he was wearing.
Not sure what the normal 18 hole rate is out there, but getting to play for free was awesome.

No range, they had a really good practice area. Can’t believe people stole that many range balls.

I thought the same thing when he said it.
Having never played it prior to Ida, I can't comment on the course closure/being unplayable ordeal. All I can say is that I will give Trey credit where it's due, the course is in damn fine shape.

Why would anybody want to steal his range balls? I don’t think so. The practice facility was awesome. He lost money because he ran off his customers, literally!

We had one person in our group who had played before, and said wholeheartedly that Carter Plantation took more damage from Ida.
Again, I had never seen it before yesterday, but given how wide open it is, I find the unplayable angle sketchy at best. I mean I guess if you just don't fire up the mowers, it's unplayable?

Believe me, nobody is going to break the owner of Latour by stealing his golf balls. After Ida he emailed his pass holders (we were not called members, but passholders) and terminated our accounts, closed the course and leased the property to FEMA to use during the restoration of the area. From there everybody joined other area golf clubs and they are not going back. That’s why he’s offering free rounds to get people back. And he’s loosing money because of stolen golf balls. Sure!
