There’s a Juve site claiming we’re offering Tsimikas on loan…which would be incredibly stupid

Absolutely no chance this happens. That is the silliest rumor I've heard yet in this window.

Carvalho/Harvey combo is going to be a monster for years to come

Before yesterday's game, there was a stat going around that we were 17th in "burst" runs so far this season. Every other full year under Klopp we have been 1st or 2nd.
I'm wondering if the injuries, etc. have led to some issues - maybe we're tired, etc. I also thought about Tim Howard's comments yesterday about Mane being gone, and perhaps everyone is still figuring out how to press without him.
But we look slow of foot, and at times, slow of anticipation/awareness. Something is clearly off, but I trust Klopp to figure out. Hopefully before City are 20 points clear of everyone.

Need Darwin to play and start changing the attack up

I think we’re going to look like a much better side with Jordan Henderson on the bench. The guy is washed if we’re being honest. He was always better than rival fans gave him credit for, but he was never really good. He gave his all to liverpool, but he’s not good enough anymore
Pass it backwards. Pass it sideways. Late to a challenge. Scream. Kick one to nobody at the back post when you find the ball at your feet 25 yards out.
Something looks off because our midfield is shambles. Get Thiago back and have Carvalho first off the bench and we’ll be hell on wheels again.

well i'm glad somebody else said it, cause i get shite for stating these obvious facts.
i think klopp's loyalty to hendo has cost us at least one champions league final and two PL titles.

Get Thiago back
he's always hurt, now i see why bayern didn't mind offloading him. seems like he plays less than messi and ronaldo.

I'm not the biggest Henderson fan, but I think he's generally gotten much more hate than he's deserved.
Historically, he's lead well, communicated well (which is very important in the game and how we play), covered well for our outside backs, decent enough in possession, tries a lot more forward balls than anyone gives him credit for, etc.
That being said, he's started off this season rough. I think he's lost a step and the deficiencies in his game are starting to become liabilities he can't make up for.
The biggest issue though, for me, is that the midfield had no balance. When its him and Milner and Elliot, etc. there was no creativity. Milner and Hendo together without a FAb or Thiago is an absolute nightmare.

Melo a head scratcher
But Everton will cure all ills

I agree, but not for the same reasoning. He's been terrible so far this season and is getting old, so I'm happy to see him on the bench for awhile. But he has been one of the most crucial cogs in this midfield the past few years.

Literally this is his job (not the late challenge part). When we have possession, which is most of the time, this team attacks as a 2-3-5 relying on fullbacks for width to either cross or turn the opposing CB at the end-line. The wide midfielders, including Henderson, cover for our fullbacks as they push up the field. Consequently, Henderson has mainly been a defensive player who's job is to cover the flanks and recycle possession wide to start our attacks down the wing. This is why you either see sideways passes, backwards passes to the CB to change the point of attack, or a quick ball to the back post aimed at either the winger or the fullback.
It's not pretty, but its a job.

It does. We clearly have no clue how to operate in this new shape with Mo and Diaz extremely wide, and no reliance on the fullbacks to create. Frankly, I'm still trying to figure out what Klopp is even trying to do with this shape, but its an unmitigated disaster.

Tired of watching Evertons thuggish play. It’s a disgrace to the game, frickin twats
Posted on 9/3/22 at 7:21 am to AtchafalayaRoute
I would give them the 3 points every year, just to avoid injuries and to not have to watch Gordon roll around on the ground for 60 minutes.

Gomez at CB is definitely a weak spot for us. We desperately need Matip back
Posted on 9/3/22 at 9:02 am to OleVaught14
We just haven't figured out an identity at all, but it also seems like we just aren't great. Almost everyone looks a step slow - particularly Fab, but also VVD, Gomez, and Robertson.
No Hendo in midfield didn't fix a thing.
We had our chances (and so did Everton), but Darwin was just an inch too short, and we weren't clinical enough.
Also, had always routed for him, but @#$#@ Coady for his celebration on that offside goal. Former red should never act that way.

another weekend, another draw...
they really need to expedite that Bellingham offer this January, vs. waiting til the summer... and being we have a GLARING need for an infusion of talent in the midfield, it's likely driven up the price for him... at the end of the day, this is on Klopp... Thiago's injury history and Henderson's age were known, and yet we refused to address them... we are seeing the result of that gamble
