Obviously I’m an idiot for even debating the windshield. Never owned a sxs before

I’m just debating style now. A split poly that pops up or a standard glass windshield

Not an idiot for debating it. Really just depends on your needs.

Poly will eventually become scratched up and hazy.

I’ve never taken mine off other than to replace it. The 4x4 sheets of 1/8” lexan at lowes will suffice. Don’t use plexiglass, it’s not strong enough and will break. I bought stainless steel pipe clamps with a rubber coating for attaching to the roll bar. I made a template out of cardboard and cut off of that. I wasn’t paying $400 for a kubota lexan windshield. I’m sure they are more than that now.
