If someone busted through my front door right now there is no chance I could get to any of my weapons before they shot me or held me at gun point. So the question is did this guy watch TV with a AK 47 in his lap? There is way more to this story, in most instances of a “home invasion” where the home owner managed to take out the invaders, it is usually drug related, and the home owner knew they were coming. The Sheriff apparently has no issue with what went down and is choosing not to dig any deeper.

Meh there’s a pistol out (up high) in all my rooms downstairs in my house except the dining room and master bed, in which I have lock and loaded ARs. It would be close but I think I’d stand a good chance getting to one if my door got kicked.

Inside 20 yards nothing beats a 12 Guage shotgun for stopping power. I keep mine loaded with slug first and then 00 buckshot with a full choke.

Lol. I'm the same way. I have a Glock in every downstairs room of my house. I keep my rifles, shotguns, and Sig Sauer upstairs.

Florida is great when it comes to allowing citizens to use deadly force in self defense. In some counties the sheriff's office teaches gun classes to help folks learn to protect their homes and families.

I have both, but my AK would be a better home defense gun, smaller barrel length, mag over clip. I also would say there are a lot more AK's in production.
