Trump gets decimated in Florida poll vs DeSantis

Newsweek
14 points higher than Trump. That’s an asskicking if it comes down to this in a year and a half. To other DeSantis fans:

quote:
Ron DeSantis is the clear winner over Donald Trump among Florida Republicans when asked who they would like as the GOP presidential nomination 2024, according to a poll.
The survey, conducted by Blueprint Polling, found 50.9 percent of those asked back or lean towards the Florida governor, with the former president behind on 38.6 percent.
When broken down to just those who are firm on their stance, DeSantis' lead extends to nearly 14 points (47.6 percent to 33.2 percent) in a scenario in which the pair ended up as the final two choices in the GOP primary.
"Older Republicans are more likely to support Trump, but DeSantis still leads the former president in all age groupings," a poll summary read.
"Trump is tied with DeSantis among voters with some college but among high school graduates as well as college graduates and those with advanced degrees, DeSantis polls much better."
Meanwhile, sixty-six percent of respondents agreed that Florida Republicans believe that widespread election fraud cost Trump the 2020 election, while 11 percent said Florida Republicans do not believe but "will go along with the rhetoric" because it energizes Republicans in upcoming elections. Trump has repeatedly pushed election fraud claims without any evidence.
The new survey comes after another statewide survey of GOP voters, by the University of New Hampshire, in June suggested DeSantis led Trump 39 percent to 37 percent.

Wow. Can he run for governor still? How's he doing in Colorado?

Point to where The Donald touched you on the doll.

Is this a surprise?
I honestly thought there’d be a two point spread like in New Hampshire. It’s almost 14 though. And keep in mind, Florida is now Trump’s home state, so I doubt Donnie likes this one bit. DeSantis would be foolish to wait until 2028.

The Diaper Man will lose.

So people realize Trump isn’t a winning candidate in 2024? Wow, color me shocked.

Desantis will not run for President. Of course, he’d be competitive in Florida, (where he’s doing awesome as Governor) but he’d get swamped in places like New York, California, Texas, etc.
He’s not dumb enough to become another Rubio or Ted Cruz.

Is it really though? Trump is a New Yorker that lives in Florida.

He labeled that as his home state in 2020.

He’s GOVERNOR of that state. Lol.
Ted Cruz smoked Trump in Texas in 2016 by 17 points, fyi.

That doesn't make him a "Floridian". Desantis was born and raised in Florida. Trump was not. Trump is just another New Yorker that lives in Florida. That is a big difference. Especially to people that are actually from Florida.

But Ted Cruz isn’t liked. He’s notoriously hard to get along with on Capitol Hill. Ted may be the smartest person in the room, but he’s an a-hole I’ve heard on several occasions from both sides of the aisle.

I wonder if people will care 2 years from now that he was mean to Elon.

I like DeSantis.
I like Trump.
I like any conservative (non-RINO) who ultimately runs.
I’m curious tho: Has DeSantis ever indicated he’s interested in running for POTUS?

So a popular governor in his own state is more popular than Trump, is this suppose to be some kind of breaking news or something?
