...even though Desantis is basically a Latin Trump. It's not like we're trotting out another Mitt Romney out there...

Read my edit. They won't support him in a primary so it's an irrelevant point. Trump still has a strong grip on the GOP.

I would gladly vote for Desantis in 2028 if he presents himself as the best option. Against Trump, though? It's not realistic.

Why would Desantis risk alienating the Trump coalition in 2024, when he can inherit them in 2028.
