Mets are pushing Max Scherzer’s next start back so he can pitch game one of the Braves series next week. Showalter denies it was done so Scherzer could pitch against Braves instead of Marlins.

I don't know why he would deny it. That will be an important series.

Well that means they'll be facing Sandy Alcantara on Sunday with some fill in starter, because they don't have an off day to just push the whole rotation back a day. That should be a loss for them. If we then beat Max on Monday, that would be a double kick in their pants.

Why deny it? The Braves pushed a Fried start back to get him matched up with the Mets earlier this season.

Not sure why this got downvoted, because it definitely happened, and I'm glad Snitker did it. It was going into that four game series in NY where we had the doubleheader in the middle.
