Welding for most of my adult life and being only 35 I’m having a lot of trouble with my hands being numb and pain at night. I don’t really wanna take the time off for surgery yet. Has anyone else experienced this and been able to alleviate the pain with anything other than surgery??

Mine was not nearly as bad as yours but it went away after wearing a brace at night to keep my wrist straight.

I Sleep w/ a brace on each wrist. I've heard and read the surgery don't help for long. Neurologist tests me every year in January

I am gonna try a brace for each hand. Someone else suggested this. I haven’t heard of any other options besides surgery which kinda surprised me. Seems most every ailment has a home remedy that can do wonders. I have been trying to make sure they are straight and well supported when falling asleep. But it seems like it’s every night and morning now I wake up with discomfort in both wrists. I’m currently doing little hand exercises to help the pain so I can go back to sleep

I had surgery on both hands. Healed quickly. Right one done years ago no problems after the surgery. Left done 3 years ago. No issues no pain. Mine was bad. Could not sleep, pain up to my shoulder, numbness.

it has been 15 years. Still a candidate for surgery but it has not gotten any worse

Late 20s with a job where I work with my hands and I had tendonitis earlier this year.
I had to wear a thumb immobilizer brace for two months before it got better. It was so frustrating and time consuming doing everyday life with one hand.
I used diclofenac cream, supplements for joint health, and comfrey poultices as well.
I wish you the best.

Occupational Therapist here. I see a lot of these. The overuse and vibrations in the wrist can cause this. The flexor retinaculum in your wrists compresses the f out of your median nerve, like a kink in a hose. Pain/numbness mostly in your thumb, index, and middle finger?

Find a Dr who can give you steroid injections in your wrists. They last me around 3 months each time.

ETA: shooting for Jan surgery on the right side but the depo injections have been far more help than braces were

As most have said wearing a brace at night helps some

There’s some some about B6 helping online, others say it doesn’t
May have been in my head or the fact that I was doing less but I think it helped
Had to stop taking it before leg surgery & never started it back up & back to wearing brace at night
Good reminder to take it tonight to see if it helps

I also tried Penetrex cream (OTC) don’t think it made a difference

Brace I use is Vive Wrist Brace - Carpal Tunnel Hand Compression Support Wrap

Wore a brace at night so I could sleep while debating or waiting on Surgery. Surgery was a game changer. Zero issues.
