I just had a huge pecan tree cut down in our front yard (it died). Can I use the mulch from the tree stump for the beds? I know some mulch might be too alkaline or acidic. We have boxwoods, indian hawthorns, and some viburnum.

I dont know anything about pecan in particular, but outside of that you absolutely can. You can also bag the pecan and use it in the smoker or give it away to someone that smokes/ bbq.

If you have the space, make a compost pile with it so it will kill the weed seeds in the native soil before you move it into the landscape beds. After a few months it will work great.
