I’ll always care, but the conference consolidation and current NIL/free transfer situation are causing me to care less than I have in the past. I watch and I’m emotionally invested because I’m an alum and a fan of Louisiana State University. LSU sports culture/passion was a big part of my life for a long time.

If the players don’t give a frick about LSU, and the whole thing is only about money, I’m going to care a lot less.

I’ll extrapolate that to college sports generally, not just LSU. It was more fun than professional sports for me because of the loyalty and passion that comes with “amateur” sports. Look I know that “amateur” has always been a ridiculous moniker for modern CFB, but what’s happened in the last couple years went way beyond that. College sports are adopting the things that make me disinterested in professional sports.
