Palazzo ignored his district repeatedly. He was called no show for a reason. He voted by proxy more than other Republicans. Mississippi GOP voters expect their congressman to show up to vote, not hand off the vote to Kentucky or Texas.

Palazzo's strength was the Pine Belt, hence why Taylor couldn't beat him. His opponents managed to crack the Jones County (Laurel) area this year and that made a huge difference. Ezell is 60 but pretty energetic and as a Sheriff, he knows how to stay in touch with voters.

The man argument for keeping Palazzo was get this, he is on appropriations. That's it. Totally it. But the people who said that also said he earned his loss fair and square.

Yep. And voter turnout appears to have been low in the Pine Belt (just looking at raw numbers) as opposed to the Coast. No one was excited to go out and vote for Palazzo.
