This controversy seems so dumb to me. Separation of church and state never should have been interpreted as “a public employee can’t pray while at work”. That’s ludicrous.

I agree. But what if your kid was on the team and the coach did a satanic ritual before the game?

Technically he wouldn’t have to participate in the “prayer” but it would be weird no?

It's also not in our Constitution, even though people seem to reference it like it is.

True.

Of course you realize that Democrats have been attempting to make exactly that case for decades and effectively argued for exactly that in this case.

This is so much the case, pay attention. This ruling will be viewed as a "shift".

Exactly right! The first amendment was designed to keep the government out of the church not the church out of government
