What do you use to budget or otherwise keep track of your day to day finances?

I don’t need a budget because I have self control to not put me in a jam. I don’t need to micromanage my day to day spending because I sacrificed when I was younger for a better tomorrow.

I set myself up to not have to worry about gas rising 10 fricking cents like so many losers on this board bitch about. People sacrifice their future to have it today. The future has come and it ain’t bright for the vast majority and now they want to cry. Well, that was their choice. I have zero sympathy.

More people, and especially children, need to read The Ant and the Grasshopper by Aesop. I remember reading it as a young child.

What a dumb take. Even the rich and wealthy budget and track their finances.

Who said budgeting was strictly for avoiding putting yourself in a jam?

You do you. I like having eyes on exact numbers.

I hope this isn't piling on, but this is an awful take. Everyone is on a budget. Elon Musk is on a budget. Regardless of your "self control", a person might use YNAB to keep a good handle on things and figure out where spending might be too high or help manage ongoing expenses with spending goals, savings goals, etc. Some folks use it as a substitute for a check register.

Some do all of the above. Contrary to your implication that only financially irresponsible folks would use such a tool, my experience is that YNAB is a valuable tool to enhance an already stable financial situation.
