LSU vs Miami full game

Just watched the complete game on YouTube. What a game. I was a very young boy when this happened and I remember my entire family being so excited.

Here are a few thoughts from watching it now.

LSU’s pitcher Shipp threw a bunch of strikes that were called balls all game long. Watch the first Miami batter of the game to see two missed strikes. Coogan started to walk off the mound for a strike 3 with two out and he was in complete disbelief that it was called a ball. The umpire was not consistent.

LSU was shooting themselves in the foot all game long.

Bases loaded with no outs. LSU hits a single to right and Warren Morris from 2nd is held at 3rd. (Not sure why) Williams ran to 3rd base b/c he expected Morris to score. Two players on third base and Williams was tagged out. I kind of question the third base coach. LSU player later in the game runs through the stop sign from the third base coach and scores.

LSU left fielder dropped a catch with 2 outs giving Miami 2 runs.

LSU had a base runner picked off trying to steal third with no out. The current batter then singles up the middle costing LSU a run. LSU fails to score this inning.

Miami first batter of the inning bunts to third. LSU fumbles the catch of the grounder and he is safe. The next batter bunts to first. The ball is knocked from the LSU first basemen’s glove on the tag and he is safe. Next player bunts to the pitcher. Shipp tries to go to third but he is safe. Miami has three straight bunts and the bases loaded with nobody out. Miami scores 2 runs this inning with all baserunners coming off of bunts.

LSU definitely did not play a clean game but Miami collected a lot of hits and did have a throwing error to first base giving LSU a run. If LSU cuts down on these mistakes Warren Morris home run would have never happened because LSU wins by 3-4 runs.

When you say the left fielder “dropped the ball”, are you referring to the play where chad cooley dove for the fly ball and it fell out of his glove and the ump said it wasnt caught?

Because mike bianco nearly got tossed arguing that call

26 years later and your first thought is about umpiring. One day you will realize that you can’t call balls and strikes from a center field camera!

Yeah, he took a step in and then went back. He caught the ball and slide about 3 feet. After he stoping sliding the ball came out of the glove. He definitely caught it but then he dropped it at the end when he was ready to stand up. It was strange.

I watched the game yesterday grandpa. I noticed the umps sucked when LSU was pitching and missed many calls.

Fun fact-I fell out of a tree earlier that day and watched the game while nursing some wicked scrape wounds.

ETA: I should add that I was 12, and we had the best live oak you've ever seen.

I was in Omaha that year, went even though I was sick. Then, had a bad reaction to medication so I came home after attending the Wichita State and Florida games.

You didn’t see the same thing from center field that the umpire sees behind the plate. It’s simple physics. It’s not my problem you’re too stupid to realize that. I can promise that I have seen substantially more baseball games than you have and understand the game better than you dumb as little dweeb

Mic drop
Back turned
Walked away

Now sit down and shut up you little bleeding tampon host!

Also I wear my Granpa title with great satisfaction and its the reward for a long and well lived life

When WM hit the home run I jumped up and hit my head on my Mom's Ceiling Fan Light. It fell but I caught it. It didn't break but hurt like hell.

Were those in black and white? Really cool back in the day right grandpa. It is really easy to see on tv if it is a ball or strike or close. It is also easy to tell if the pitch is a curve ball or slider or change up. You don’t know what you are talking about Grandpa. Go eat your pudding and think about the good old days.

You still don’t get it.
Calling me Grandpa is a compliment because it shows the results of a long and prosperous life!

When you become a man you might understand but I doubt it. I’m willing to bet if your grandparents are ashamed of how you turned out!
