Who protects crews in the lineup next year? Don’t say Morgan, if he is healthy he bats lead off.

Dugas and Beloso are options

Pearson could come on strong.

You’re not going to have a second best hitter like Berry this year. It’s rare to have one Crews or Berry. Having two isn’t going to happen very often.

ETA: Crews has as high of a chance at leading off as Morgan does.

Don’t ask me a question and take away a logical answer.

Anyway, who knows. Lots of time to figure out roster.

Incoming Juco transfer Malong Johnson
Hit .304 this year with 46 RBIs, 12 doubles and 9 HRs.

Kid also has 16 stolen bases. Should be a nice addition.

To start the season it will be Morgan, Crews, Pearson or Pearson, Crews Morgan until someone else shows they can protect Crews.

I don’t and never did like Morgan as lead-off. I am definitely giving him a pass this season due to his knee injury, but do not see his future as a lead-off hitter based on the last two seasons.

The young man was my third favorite Tiger this year behind Hilliard and Crews respectively. I hope like hell he has an excellent off-season with rehab and comes back better than ever. I’d love to see him hit 15-20 HRs with 15-20 SBs in 2023 to make him a certified top first or second round draft pick.

Thinking our lineup is designed to protect hitters is your first mistake. Welcome to black Jack baseball, it’s 9 individual matchups the lineup isn’t built as a unit.

I guess LSU should have met his contract request

Hugh Jass is a name I can see filling in that role. Definitely a draft threat being in the top 100, but if we can get him to campus.
