Vincent and possibly Cid if he is introduced will just be guest characters like Red was in part 1.

I disagree. I think this game is going to be absolutely fricking massive. They have been building it for how long? Let’s say 5 years. Much of the groundwork was already laid for them or was being laid simultaneously while they were in early development concept phases all by remake part 1. It’s the first ps5 game I’m aware of requiring 2 discs worth. Now I haven’t seen anywhere, and maybe someone can chime in and correct this if im wrong, but if that will be old school ps1 insert 2nd disc or like Red Dead 2 where one is just a simple install disc and one runs the game. Even if it’s the latter it still allows a massive game. I think the game is going all of the way to the northern crater with all that entails including all the playable characters.

Cid is the one most likely to get that treatment. Vincent is absolutely way too pivotal to the entire plot of FF7s main game and entire compilation which we know is all part of this to not be introduced into this game in a big way. We’ve seen genesis and deep ground introduced, who is the omega to his chaos in dirge and really the culmination of this whole thing. Vincent knows way too much, he’s way too tied into almost all of the big bad guys, he can’t just be left to rot. It was a mistake in the OG to even allow that to be a possibility I seriously doubt they make it twice.

What are you rambling about?
It was not an opinion. They stated he is not playable. Unless he misspoke in his interview.

Vincent Valentine’s brief appearance was an exciting highlight of the Rebirth story trailer at September’s PlayStation State of Play. We won’t reveal the character’s nature for newcomers, but he, like Yuffie, was an optional party member in the original game, so I asked Square if that would be the case again. Nomura confirms Vincent joins the group as part of Rebirth’s main story this time, but, unfortunately, he won’t be playable. Instead, the brooding warrior simply accompanies the party like Red XIII did in Remake. Nomura explains this is the case because, in the original, Vincent joins the party during the backend of the story. Based on that answer, it sounds like we won’t be wielding Vincent’s power ourselves until the yet-to-be-titled third entry arrives.

Nope. The groundwork likely came from FFXV and FFXVI. This is not a remake anymore, remember that.
