Loved baseball when kids were young. Coached more games that I could ever count. But with travel ball, pay to play, baseball has become toxic. Parents think their little brat will be a major leaguer and let you know it. They pay thousands just to play what is in essence little league baseball. Get to high school and kid is on the bench that’s when the venom starts. You can see the byproduct in major leaguers from American. Lost interest

Sorry to hear about your experience. Have 2 girls, so I missed out on travel ball.

yep.
in early days of travel ball, it was a lot better.
but now it’s too watered down. everybody plays travel ball, so other than cost, it’s really no different than local rec ball. **
**other than the benefit of playing a lot more games and gaining experience.

Even with all the subpar fielding and pitching; and blown close games, this team very nearly advanced to a Super Regional vs Ole Miss, and possibly even to Omaha.
With the returning players and new recruits coming in, I am hyped for 2023...

The only thing accurate in that article is acknowledging that there is only 3 minutes of action in a baseball game. I find baseball boring to watch, especially on tv.

so saying LSU has 6 national titles in baseball is not accurate?
i really gotta slack off on the drinking then.

Some folks just don't get the baseball thing, but I, for one, am very grateful.

Exactly paying thousands to play AA utrip. Killed small town little league baseball. Makes no sense. I did it for years but never liked it. Best memories were at the hometown little league park.

Why do these thread always devolve into fights between two posters on topics totally unrelated to the OP?
