Can't say I'm a fan of it - but the concept of opposing teams wearing contrasting colors doesn't appear to apply in baseball, especially recently. White vs. gray is the historical standard, but dark vs. dark has become more and more common.

Are you not familiar with baseball?

Home team can wear a dark jersey. Typically with white pants though, like Stanford is doing now.

It is baseball. There is about 5 minutes of actual action over the course of 3 hours. Not much of which involves the players being in fast moving close contact with each other unlike football, basketball, etc

The rest question should be, why isn't the Cardinal wearing these? Black shouldn't be in Stanford's rotation of uniforms.
