I went through and redeemed 7 of those 3mo codes for 2.3 years of XBL. Is there a reason to not just continue beyond 3 years?

What do you have now? The key is getting the years of Xbox Live Gold banked and then upgrading it to Game Pass Ultimate for a one time fee.

So my kid has Xbox gold til January and he went on to see about game pass. It says for $15 it will upgrade his gold to game pass for almost a year . So it will expire 5/2/23. Does this sound right? I’m asking because I don’t know much about all these passes.

You can convert your existing Xbox Gold to Game Pass for $15. Without seeing your exact account, I can't say when the GamePass will expire, but it should be the end date of your XBL Gold.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, went ahead and paid the $15 and now he’s good til 5/2/23 don’t know why the extra time but not complaining about it lol.

I just did this today with no problems. Bought the codes a couple of weeks ago, but had to wait for the subscription to end. I assume they would have blocked the process if this was what they are targeting, but I guss time will tell.

Not entirely unrelated, but has anyone used xbox gift cards to buy a console before? I noticed the site with these live subs has discounted gift cards and I'm building up my microsoft rewards to get some gift cards. I've read you can use the xbox gift cards to buy consoles and accessories, but I was just curious if anyone has done that. I'm hoping to maybe buy some discounted ones to make up the difference I need.

Has the price of the 3-month key gone up? It looks like it's $97 for me?
ETA: I think they removed the 1 month free part. I don't see it as an option on the PC or Xbox Redeem. I made sure my account had expired and also the recurring billing was OFF.
