Looking for a 3-4 night stay. Woods, lake, pool, bbq pit. Anywhere from Dallas to Houston north/south and from Austin Eastward. Not looking for lots of amenities. Thanks I’m advance.

Caddo Lake, look up Spatterdock for cabins...although I don't think they have any pools.

Not sure if there would be kids traveling with you but you may take a look at Jellystone Park Whispering Pines near Tyler.
I haven’t been but have heard it has a lot of fun stuff, cabins and RV spots, a mini golf course, a couple of swimming pools, a pond near some of the cabins for fishing.
May not be what you’re looking for but you could check it out online, probably requires some reservations.

Look into Glen Rose, TX. I had an Enduro bike race there a few years ago at the state park and I really liked the town there.

Vacation Country Rentals outside of Crockett

We're heading back in July. Great place for a great price.

Apparently broken Bow is the spot it’s going to be the new Gatlinburg

And I really don't understand the love for brokenbow. It's ok but nothing I would recommend to anyone.
