Anyone been to any lately? We are taking my 9 year old daughter to NYC the weekend before school starts. Her first trip. Taking her to see The Music Man with Hugh Jackman. Want to take her to maybe one other show. Was looking at Funny Girl. I'd kinda like to see Hadestown. Any info appreciated.

Just got back from New York and we took the kids, one of which is a 9 year old. We took them to Wicked and she loved it. I hear Beetlejuice is good too and kids are bony it. My wife and I went to Music Man without the kids but looking back they would have loved it for sure. Probably the best show I’ve ever been to. After the curtain call, if you go out the doors to the left of the stage, that is where the cast exits from the building. Most of the cast just walked out and down the street but Hugh Jackman came out and spoke to the crowd for 10 minutes or so. Sutton Foster came out and waved but kinda hurried off to her car.
Also, both theaters were opposite on their drink policy. At Wicked, you couldn’t eat or drink anything at your seat, you had to do it in the lobby by the bar. For Music Man, you could ONLY take it back to your seat. Also both places required masks.
ETA: I don’t remember exactly when it is but in the play bill it said that Hugh Jackman would have a replacement for some of the shows coming up while he takes a short hiatus.

We checked. He is supposed to be there. We are going to late show on a Saturday. My daughter would freak if she met him.

We just happened upon it, didn’t even know they were coming out until we walked out and they had barricades and tons of people; we just kinda slid up to the front

I don’t think Wicked can be beaten if you haven’t seen it before.

Where were your seats for Music man? We got second row balcony but I’m debating paying more for 2nd row orchestra

Hadestown was incredible. The cast was very accessible at the stage door afterwards for autographs.

Row E Orchestra. Was definitely worth paying more

If the Lion King is playing, that one is great for kids. Esp if you have floor seats. The animals come out into the aisles and it’s really cool.

I've seen probably close to 30 Broadway shows.
Kinky boots is really hard to beat.
And believe it or not, Mean Girls was a ton of fun too.
I've still never seen wicked though. It's on the wife's bucket list though
